"90 Seaswirl Cobra 5.8L Cobra. Just replaced the shift cable. 7 5/8" on engine side and flush in outdrive. Shifting is flawless now, but I am having a hell of a time adjusting the engine shift bracket. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get the engine shift bracket to rock up/down and then back into the "V". It usually sits on the hign point or when I adjust out the cables, the engine shift bracket just sits there. This is without the engine running and the gears properly lock. Does the engine have to be running?....Any help would be appreciated."
