Clicking Trim Solonoid

I've read most of the posts I can find here relating to power trim issues and still have a question regarding solonoid testing/failure.

My down button results in a solonoid click about 75% of the time. If I just hit it several times, it will eventually fire up the pump and lower the outdrive. If I test the voltage on the solonoid where the green pump wire connects, I get 0 when it clicks, and 12.xx when it runs. Is this indicitive of a defective solonoid or am I missing something else?

Thanks in advance!

most likely a corroded contact inside the housing. replacement is the only option .If you were to disassemble the old one you`ll find 1 contact corroded
