"I just need to know what is a good product to buy to clean the funk of my boat, it sits in the water all summer and for some reason this year is nastier than ever. I have always just used comet and a scrub brush and that worked fine but this year its requiring more "elbow grease" than usual..Need something strong to clean off this brown sh*t?"

"Robert, I used to buff my 21-foot boat once a year, would take about 4-hours. I was recommended a product by a friend whom works at SeaRay for 20+ years, and it is UNBELIEVABLE!

Mary Kate On/Off - Costs about $12/qt. Poor some into a container, using a paint bush, apply about 2 or 3 foot areas at a time, wait 1-min, hose it off with water. After completion, apply a good wax. I can get 2 complete cleanings with a 1-qt bottle.

Check out the product here:

Most West Marine stores also carry this product in stock.

Caution: Although they says this is biodegradable, you will want to use heavy rubber gloves to cover your hands & arms, and, if you have access to a respirator, as fumes are pretty hardy.

This product contains a sulfuric acid. I've seen it used in a sprayer to remove barnacle growth from the hull-bottom in a matter of minutes, with a little bit of scraping."

"Robert,

Forgot to mention.

"Robert,

Forgot to mention...Don't get any of the On/Off product on any painted metals. The 1st time I used this, I must have splattered about a dozen little drops on my transom, and it did blister the paint.

Let me know how you like it! I've probably purchased 8 or 10 quarts over the past couple of years for different people, and they all could not believe the results.

Good-luck!"

"Sounds like some nasty sh*t...Hopefuly it will de-funk my boat because it looks horrible right now.. my trailer is steel (painted), do you think this stuff will mess it up?
Thanks

use a solution of 10 % hydroch

use a solution of 10 % hydrocholic acid and water. Go to you local Janitoral supply company to get your supples and get what looks like a big and flat pot scrubber pad a broom handle and the thing to hold the pad. Oh ya and some rubber gloves...stuff will burn skin. What I do is mix the stuff in a cat litter box big enough dip the pad in to. Apply and wash off. This will work with very little effort and it will turn your hull white again and get rid of all the yellow staining. BTY I have a Regal 2760 with bottom without paint.

I just used MAR pro easy on ea

I just used MAR pro easy on easy off and it worked great. I used it on my boat after being in salt water for over 2 weeks with no bottom paint. It returned it to like new condition. It hasnt look that good since i bought it. I was so impressed i used it on a jet ski thats been stained brown for years and that returned to a brilliant like new white again. I must admit i sent the wife out to pick me up some hull cleaner and thats what she returned with. Since i have gone back to marina and picked up 2 more bottles. I purchased 32oz bottle for $6.99. Outdoors i didnt even smell just had to wet down trailers prior to use.
