"My AQ130C has a Bosch distributor. I suspect that an ongoing problem I have where the engine does not always idle down might be some sort of advance problem and someone suggested that perhaps my distributor internals may need cleaning.

What's involved with cleaning the distributor internals? If it involves removing the distributor, I think I'll leave it alone."

It had points but I recently installed a Pertronix electronic conversion kit which has worked out very well. The "idle down" issue was present before the ignition conversion.

You definitely should remove the distributor if you want to do that job. If you do, I think it would be money well spent taking the distributor to a specialized shop for a dynamic test to see if the advance graph matches the factory settings."
