Chysler/Chevy 71C compatibility?

I have a tired 273 Chrysler with a 71C. I have a line on a cheap 350 chevy bobtail with no tranny. Could I use the 71C off the Chrysler with a much newer Chevy 350? Same rotation.

What bell housing and flex plate would i need?

thanks very much

Borg Warner pioneered the standard Marine flywheel cover/transmission mating flange style for the smaller marine engines.

The six bolt pattern Borg Warner flywheel cover is available for the SBC.

While each rear engine flange may be different, all Borg Warner stand-off dimensions are the same.... Chevy, Chrysler, Ford, etc.

The Borg Warner drive coupler is also very common.

Pick up the correct engine mounts, and it should work.

That leaves exhaust and sea water pump. The Johnson crankshaft pump is a good option, IMO.
Wiring should be a cake walk.

Hope this little Hi-Jack didn't run pismo10 off! :D

Jeff, I am assuming that pismo10's 273 Chrysler transmission ratio will work just fine for the SBC.... if he was to go that route.
