Chrysler Power trim 1972 70hp

i have just picked up a trim and tilt unit from a guy for my boat and there is no manual release screw/plug .

1972 Chrysler 70hp
4 lines, two cylinders and one shock

is there any way i can tap and thread a short bolt in it or am i lookin at a pump shop or looking for another pump to get the plug off of ????

There is no manual release and you can not make one. There are no user serviceable parts inside the trim pump. Push the switch and run the trim up/down. The system either works or it is broken.

You need a new pump. I think that it will be difficult to find one in worse condition for the taking of parts. Even if you do get the parts, there is the question of where did the old one go and why did it pop out. If you stick a new one in will it stay or just end up on bottom of lake? I can't tell from picture, but you may be missing the shuttle too. If somebody sent me that pump to rebuild I would advise them it is cheaper to throw away than fix.
