Does anyone know what year/s the Chrysler Marine Straight 6 was manufactured?
Model #: M46S M4 HRF
Serial # 5665 S

Any info. would be helpful. Thanks

Do you have one of those engines yourself? Or could you possibly tell me where you obtained all your information from? Also am curious and was wondering if you knew what type of boats these engines were mainly placed into; Chris Craft, Hacker Crafts??"

"If you new the year of the boat that it was in when shipped. I'm not sure why you need to know the exact year. You can get parts with the info I gave you.
I have much older 6 cyl Chrysler marine engine 1928.
I have a data sheet that shows all of the early Chrysler marine info.
As far as boats that it may have been in,
Chris Craft had there own line buy then, but you could order any make or none.
Hacker was done buy that date.
You could walk into any good marina and order that motor as a replacement or for your home built."

Right now, its not about getting parts, just curious about what year engine, and boat i have here. So its possible I dont have a Chris Craft or Hacker, hah. Wow, a 1928 engine. In working order?"

"Could you tell me where to find the hull number? I searched around yesterday but couldn't locate it. Or is there another way to determine what year and make the boat is? Camera isn't working, so I can't send you photos of it right now."

On Chris Crafts they had a ser

On Chris Crafts they had a serial plate inside the engine hatches. They also stamped the engine stringers and or seat frames.
 
I have built a 18ft. juniper s

I have built a 18ft. juniper sound boat over the last few years. I installed a M251 chrysler 6cyl engine s/n anr30103. Would like to know year of engine. unable to read stamping on block. any info. would be great. thanks Tom PS. my first posting.

"Tom, thanks for the quick reply. I went back to the brass plate on the bell housing and found the ser no. to be anr30-103 this engine is installed backwards. the velvet drive is hooked to the front of the crankshaft. thanks tom."
