"Hello, I have a 70's something Chrysler outboard with the Magnapower ignition system. We recently put this motor onto our 85 Bayliner Capri. The problem were having is no spark, we have taken the points out and cleaned them, and we actually had spark at one point, then lost it again. We tried replacing the points but still couldn't get spark again. We used a voltmeter and there is 12 volts to the distributor and one side of the points, but still no spark jumps across. I'm not certain but I believe it is the Magnapower 1 system, it is a black box with a coil mounted on the side, with the fuel bowl sitting directly under it. I am somewhat a novice with ignition systems like this so any help would be appreciated.
