I have a 55 hp chyrsler outboa

I have a 55 hp chyrsler outboard motor that I just got on a boat. The boat my dad got from a friend and the guy said that it worked when he last used it years ago. I am completely new to boating and have no idea. What do I need to do in order to get the motor ready and test it to see if it runs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
