Chrysler 360 Riser /Elbow gaskets

Hello Again, This years nightmare. I replaced my 360 manifolds risers and elbows and everything came out great, plenty of flow and everything is nice and cool and leak free on the first try. Here's the problem. I'm getting white smoke out of the exhaust. This is not a head gasket I'm sure. Question? I used the riser / elbow gaskets that my mechanic recommended which are "open" with the small hole at the top. Should I have used the "closed" gaskets with no hole at the top ??????????????? This sucks. It's definately coolant coming out the exhaust and everything is new.
P.S. Thanks FastJeff for last years ignition help I got it done by what you suggested and stumped a 25 year Chrysler mechanic. Any help here would be appreciated. Kevin

I put copper coat on the riser to manifold joint but not on the manifold to head.....just a tad hot there!!

check the osco site for your application

You say coolant so your cooling your manifolds with and risers with antifreez??but the elbow gets the block off........not real sure what you got

Since this is a FWC engine, there should only be a hole in the gasket (and back up plate) for the EXHAUST. No liquid should be allowed to reach the risers.

Hope that helps.

Jeff
