"I am having an issue with one

"I am having an issue with one of my Chrysler 360's holding oil pressure. When it starts up cold the oil pressure reaches about 65psi. After it runs about 1/2 hour under a load the pressure goes down to about 15ps to 20 psi. The other engine stays about 40psi. Any ideas what is happening? I put a mechanical gauge on last night just at the dock & it seems to be doing the same thing, so i know the gauage is not bad.

"One of mine does the same thing, and I could care less. Why? 'Cause all you need it 10 psig per 1,000 rpms--and that's very conservative.

I have the same problem. Port

I have the same problem. Port motor starts at 60psi and drops a bit after running. Starboard engine starts and stays at 40psi all the time. Why does this happen?
 
Sticking pressure relief valve

Sticking pressure relief valve in the oil pump. A tiny bit of dirt is all it takes in the balancing act of pressure vs spring load.
