"Im new to the boating world and just bought myself a boat, which seems nameless but it came with a Chrysler 140 (electronic ignition) motor. I paid $1000.00 for boat and motor. The motor is in good condition. I want to know if ive made a mistake with the motor? Did i get ripped off? what manufacturer will be able to service and supply parts. I am also unsure of the model number and want to know how to find it out. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer!<font face=""arial,helvetica""></font><font face=""courier new,courier""></font><font face=""symbol""></font>"

"There are many service places that will still work on Chrysler. Parts are avaliable on line from "Hurrikain", "Crowley" "Brixent". They are easy to work on with common hand tools and a few home made testers.

Your boat would have to be real nice with a solid trailer, but don't let paying to much for it ruin any fun you might get from using it.

Few rules; Never run with out water to the pump. (in the lower unit)

2; don't scrimp on the oil you mix with the gas (50/1) TCW-3

Always have life jackets for every one and make sure they know how to use them. Toss the kids in the water then the life jacket. Keep doing it till they can put them on when over board!!

Take a "safe boating course"

If you have any questions about fixing the motor- get back to us with the year of the motor."
