"I got my 105 out on the lake

"I got my 105 out on the lake finally, and after a short speed burst and slow down ,it stalled. The primer bulb was sucked flat. I released the pressure and it fired after re-squeezing and I motored in slowly. The boat had a Merc 80 on it when I got it and I switched to the 105. The tank has a Merc style 3/8 hose ,that has a quick release style connector, pin that opens the ball.
Any ideas why it would do that?"

"Thanks, but I found the probl

"Thanks, but I found the problem. I guess I neglected to mention it is a original 1974 steel tank, guess what? I scooped the rust out. The fuel pick up didn't have a sock or filter either and it must have sucked a big piece of rust against it, when it shut down and the pressure was relieved ,it fell off. Time for a plastic tank!"
