Chrys 45 timing, after sheard key

I sheared the flywheel key in my Chrysler 45, 1979 model, then had a heck of a time getting the flywheel off, but finally, with help here, got it done and sent for a new key. Now, before I do something
dumb, need to know if there is any extra timing readjustments or do I just put in the new key and go??

Your best bet is to lap the two tapers together with " valve grinding compound " a perfect match of the 2 tapers is what you want !!!!!---------Then the tapers will drive the flywheel, the key merely locates it for proper timing.

Thanks again racerone and Jerry, thats what I needed to know. I've lapped 'em several times so I think that should be
ok. It was the, "timing going back to where it was", that I wasn't sure of. Love this forum. mm

Definitely use a torque wrench when putting the flywheel back on. I didn't, once, and am pretty sure that is why my key sheared.....
