"This motor was given to me. It came with all the controls and looks very good. Appears to be a low hours motor. I'm not familiar with them and was wondering what kind of a reputation they have.
Thanks,
Bill"

"Bill - not good. They went bankrupt, were bought out by Bayliner and reborn as Force which was ultimately given to Mercury and then totally discontinued.

There is now no dealer network or mfg part source for the motors.

However, you can generally still find parts to keep them going and while their reputation is far worse than the motors ever were, they have very little value in the used market - guys (and gals) just don't want anything to do with them for the most part.

If it is running and you have a use for it, then that's a good thing. You may well get some good years of service out of it.

The motor itself is probably a 1970 model. The 707 HA-HF series was built in the 70 thru 73 model years (assuming the HA came before the others in the line)...."

Thank you!!

Thank you!!

It's in excellent condition and I plan to replace a damaged Evinrude 70 with it(cracked block and bad bearings).

I have found pats for it on the web and Ebay. It was free so I can put a little money in it.

"Bill, as I said above, person

"Bill, as I said above, personally think they were a better motor than their reputation. My dad had a 60 horse Chrysler for years and was still running great when he sold the boat after running it for about 15 years.

With yearly maintenance any outboard that runs is a good motor.

You can check out Andrew's parts listings here as well (right of this page - Engine Parts by Brand). He carries a number of parts for Chryslers as well - at least items for tune up and yearly "replaceables"..."

"Again thank you for your time

"Again thank you for your time!!

The gas mixture is 50:1 correct? I have found out it is a long shaft motor (Model 707HA). I didn't pay much attention to the lower unit when we took it off the junker boat. It was cold and windy yesterday morning in Pryor, Oklahoma.

It will take it's place along side an old Johnson V4 75HP I use on a 1965 Crosby Boat. I may even look for an old Chrysler boat for it.

I have a 70hp Chrysler Magnafo

I have a 70hp Chrysler Magnaforce Model 707HE serial number 5061. What is the fuel mixture? Is this a 1972 or 1973

"Larry, the model 707's &#

"Larry, the model 707's (HA thru HF) were built over 4 model years (70-73) - so it doesn't matter much what year it is, they were all identical in that run - so maybe a 72 or maybe a 73.

These mix at 50:1......"
