I have what I think is a 1979 200. On the port side block flange running top to bottom are the #'s 1179 then 5 numbers that are hard to make out, then a 2. I have been told that on the 2.0 motors that this # means the hp so the blocks for port timing ID could be tracked during production: 3 = 135, 5= 150, 7= 175 and 2= 200. If this is true my question is if this is a 1979 200 is it a chrome bore? tks Bill I am going to buy a magnet to test the cylinder walls tomorrow, just trying not to waste my time if someone knows the answer.
