Does anyone know if the gauges used on Chris Craft different from newer gauges? Reason I ask, I re-powered my commander 315 and the gauges readings are off, I ran these motors with a test panel, temp 150, volts 12.8, oil pressure 40 at idle. After installing, I got 180+ on temp 60 psi oil and volts about 8 off, 10 when running. Did Chris craft use a different sending units for temp and Oil? Voltage is weird, as It reads low, digital meter confirms good voltage, did they use a resistance type gauge?
The tach doesn't work either and I installed a teleflex tach and that was fine, the gauges are all VDO and in good shape, just seems odd, that they read so inaccurate,,
