I have a 1999 mercury 935cc 4 stroke 4 cyl - I am currently using just the electric (commander 2000) key push choke which seems to work ok - is there any advantage in using the (disconnected) auto choke? can anyone explain the purpose of the uploader and electrothermal valve/ram and how they should work? also when starting should the fast idle lever be in the up position, ie should the throttle be partially open? why have I got adjustable pilot air screws on my carbs when according to the manual these were discontinued by that date?
