From serial no and cover appearence Ive been able to determine model year on this engine. I got it a few weeks ago, couldnt test run it, starter motor was burned and not included. While examing I noticed that choke linkage is not original and choke solenoid seems defect and is not connected to linkage. Would you say that is needed if one is to start engine alone while mounted on boat? A pull arm was attached through a hole in the top cover (is this original design) which allows for manual choke but I cant operate it while turning the key.
