"When i performed the absolut

"When i performed the absolut last engine start last season (just to get the boat on the trailer) the check engine lamp came on. The enginge had performed well all season, except from this warning the very last startup in the water. I suspect it could be the water sensor in the fuel filter as i 30 minutes before had filled up with gasoline, and after that had a rough drive in the waves. Am i on the right track?"

"The check engine light is not water in the fuel/water seperator. I used the diagnostic tool last weekend, there was three codes stored, one said something about the barometer pressure was not as expected, the other had something to do with the air? temperature and the third i really do not rembember. All codes was stored, but they could all be erased. I have started and run the engine after that, using the flush device (it's not on the water yet) No alarm or fault codes. Maybe a bad/loose connection? Apart from that, i could see that the engine has run 302 hours since new summer 2000. The boat is not used during winter, is 302 hours reasonable?"

"50-80hrs/year is 'normal' running hours in Norway.
Down in mid/south Europe it drops down to 20-50 hrs/year.
Double check all ground points, do not forget the main ground for the ECM."

water in fuel sensor----the water sensor,is located at the top of the fuel filter bracket,and rec current from the EMM.If water is present,approx 3/8" above the bottom of Fuel filter canister,the sensor compl circuit to ground,THIS TURNS ON THE SYS CK "CHECK ENG' LIGHT,AND STORES A CODE IN THE EMM."

"Morten and jwbmarine, thanks for answering. The codes stored in the EMM was not trigged by water in the fuel filter canister. I will check and double check all the ground points this weekend. The boat is in Risør

(guess Morten know where that is), so i'm not able to work on the boat before saturday. But at this point the problem is not present, so if i still don't get any more warnings, i will put the boat on the water and see what happens......"

"ok..maybe i misunderstood,..i thought u were saying wtr in fuel,..would NOT trigger ck eng lite....just FYI-i counted 35 things in my book that would trigger your ck eng lite...and sense u have the dianostic tools,..u r on the right track..if u dont have the FACTORY service manual,..u def need one..."
