cheap rectifier fix for force 70hp

having had a lot of help from this forum i thought i would share a cheap fix with you all ,my 70hp force rectifier/regulator was knackard ,,i bought a new one from ebay from india that was a replacement for a enfeild india motorcycle ,,wired the brown to live /black to earth /and the green and yellow to the ac in .........works fine with 14 volts at full revs ,,,,,cost ,£15 .inc postage

the square rectifier is a basic building block of the electronics industry. Electronics have universal standards so that manufacturers don't have to design a whole new circuit board everytime they buy a part from some other source. If you go into a random electronics store and find a random part that looks like the one in your boat and the package says "rectifier" then it is the right part. The minimum voltage for that housing style is 300V, the minimum amperage is 25A, and the specification calls for epoxy sealed. Both ratings are more than you need and the epoxy is waterproof. You could go to chinese "no speaky english" store and pick one off the shelf because it looks right. And it would be right.
