charging question?

just bought a pontoon with a 99 model 9.9 2stroke model number j10eleer, wondering if it will keep battery charged to run lights radio etc,,,, i had a older 85 model and it did not, was told because it was older model, so does the 99 do a good job charging?

Charging unit for the 9.9 was available as far back as 1974.--------------1999 model has one that puts out about 6 amp , good enough for radio and lights.

ok yea thats what previous owner said, never has to charge battery, even has a inverter on it, says he kept portable tv never a problem
