Charge coil to power pack connections

1990 Evinrude GT 200 - Question - The manual is rather ambiguous about which 2 terminal connector from the charge coils goes to which connector at the Power Pack.

The long wire from the front (bow end) goes to the Starboard connection in the Power pack? Cyls 1,3,5 And the Short connector at the rear of the stator connects to the Port connector cyls 2,4,6 at the power pack?

The pictures and the text in the factory manual seem to contradict each other and I am grasping at straws now to get this thing to run right…

Brown - both connectors solid brown Amphenol 2 pin connectors - From Ignition charge coils to Power Pack - they can plug in either side, not keyed

Shouldn't make any difference which side they go to.

OK, that's what I understand from the guys at CDI too. OH WELL - back to the drawing board... This motor has been a challenge from the beginning. I was hoping maybe they were just reversed and that was mt problem, guess not.
