"Hello everybody,
I have to replace fuel pump on my aq131a engine. Can I use automotive one? anybody tried that before? The lower part of automotive fuel pump is identical that marine one, but top is diffrent, inlet and outlet for petrol are diffrent, but I could use some some flexible fuel lines . The thing what I am not sure is that marine pump has got place to put "clear" line coming from carburator, the automotive hasnt got this. For what is that "clear" line going between fuel pump and carburator?"

"This line is for safety.Just in case the fuel pump malfuctions the excess fuel will go into the carbrator insteed of your bilge ,where there is a possibility of explosion.stay with the proper marine fuel pump."
 
Fuel pumps are one of the item

Fuel pumps are one of the items that are required to be approved for marine use by law and for your safety. Note that rubber fuel line must also be Coast Guard approved.
