Changing a 45 to a 75

I apologise in advance if this

I apologise in advance if this topic has been posted before. I have a 1980 4.5 J5RCSS and I understand the only difference between it and a 7.5 is the carb and magneto. Is it really possible to change buy simply replacing these?

"A quick look at the parts diagrams etc indicates many differences,

Different cylinder/crankcase, different crankshaft and piston, totally different intake manifolds.
Different starter type.
The legs are different.

I suggest you look at one of the parts diagrams/lists and compare the part numbers.

Same gearcase though!"
