"hi all changed fluid back in march it was real dark brown like black,changed yesterday was green color,no shavings,didnt smell bad,whats the green thanx"

"I have a Johnson 4 HP outboard with a Serial Number BJ4BRCDR B=Belgium, J=Johnson,4=4HP,BR=Euro Rope Start and CD=1986E.
My problem is that I have searched every WEB site and cannot find any reference to this Serial number for either a service manual or user Manual.
Can anyone please help?"

Your question has nothing to do with Gordon's question about his LU oil.
If you have a question you should start a new a new discussion.

However what you have discovered is not unusual. Some models were built in the Belgian factory for the European market and do not appear on the main listing.

However I think you will find that your model is similar to J4BRHCDE which has a remote fuel tank (and fuel pump).It and its longshaft cousin are listed in the parts lists which also seem to cater for both BRH and BR models.

You will find though that manuals for J4BRCD are listed by Ken Cook http://www.outboardbooks.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=models.main&year=1986&ID=14404 8

Perhaps you did not search every website afterall
