Change remote control engine stop button to tiller quickstop?

Hi!

I have a 2 stroke 30 hp Evinrude built in 1989.

Up to now it was remote controlled. The engine was stopped, using a push-button (picture 1). I now want to have it with tiller control. I attached the tiller (picture 2) and the accelator cable works fine (one cable combines the accelator cable and the elctric cable). However, the quickstop does not work, since the electric is not connected. I have an electric cable, which ends in 2 different plugs (picture 5 where I am holding these two different plugs and also to be seen in picture 3 and 4).

I now want to connect the 2 plugs of this cable with the engine electric, so that the quickstop works. So it should work as it usually works with outboards: So if I remove the red line with the clip (or if I fall of the boat and it is removed) the engine should stop.

A second question: Is there a possibilty to just cut the cables going into the current push-button (which stops the engine) and directly solder/braze it to the 2 plugs from the tiller electric cable? Or maybe also using another electric component, which somehow switches the signal so that a direct connection works and I do not have to modify the actual electric of the outboard?

Thanks for any help!

I did some further looks, however I am still not sure how to connect it?

Until now from the push-button there are two cables. One is going to a nut (picture 4). I think this is for something like grounding. The other goes (along with other cables) into a black plug. I detached the plug (picture 1,2 and 3). The first picture shows it, with the other end of the plug in the background. However, now I am not sure what to do?

The third picture basically shows where I am now. Should I attach the one cable to the nut (removing the other? or can I have both on it? The old and the new one). Should I remove the one cable, which currently comes from the stop button and goes in the the head of the plug and insert the one from the quickstop? How to do this? Take out the cable from the plug head, or cut it before and braze it?

I have some other 3 cables ending close to the stop button (picture 5 and 6). These are three yellow cables with a protection. If I remove the protection, these look like as one of the cable from the quickstop (not the one going to the nut, the other), would fit into this. But I think the purpose of these three cables is another one? Can someone tell me what these are for? For electrical start?

Can the quickstop and the stop button only be used separately? Or could I make it that way that both work at the same time?

STOP-------Be very careful with the wiring and soldering if you are not sure what wires do.-------Reason I say that , the 12 volts from the battery have nothing to do with making the spark on this motor.----And nothing to do with stopping the spark.----The battery is only for operating the starter motor !!-----Putting 12 volts to this electronic ignition system may result in big $$ damage.
