1999 Yamaha 50 4 stroke. Is there anything more (adjustments and such) to replacing the CDI unit other then removing old, installing new and connecting. If I could save myself a couple of hundred $$ that would be grand. Just had water pump replaced along with a couple of little miscellaneous stuff a month ago for a bill of over $600.00. Not sure I want another $600.00 repair bill.
I am somewhat knowledgeable of the motor and have done other minor replacements. If this is a DIY repair please advise. Any input much appreciated. Thanks. Ohh, my next purchase related to the motor will be a maintenance/repair manual. : ) For now I just need to make a decision - repair bill vs DIY.
