CDI 50 SEC DELAY

"hi all got mi 90 hp chrysler

"hi all got mi 90 hp chrysler running,seems to run nice,however when i fist turn the ingniyion switch on i have to wait approx 50seconds ,then the cdi box sends out a high level pitch noise,then i get a spark.
basikly no high level noise pitch no spark,but motor runs nice and cdi boxes gives out a high level pitch while running.
can any members advise if this is normall or is the cdi unit faulty.

just wondered if anybody could confirm that my 50 sec delay &cdi buzz is normal?

"Steve,
My 4 cyl '84 90Hp Chrysler had no delays or noises from the cdi units. I can't imagine why yours does.

thanks for the info,ive always been into cars & bikes and this is my first venture into outboards & boating.
i thought it a little strange as well,but the units sparks great,starts first turn of the starter,but i think il look for a good second hand unit just in case. thanks Steve"
