Still rebuilding but making progress...
I need new ignition wire set. The 283 is flywheel forward model with distributor near the paragon transmission (mounts in the rear cover). I contacted Mallory and they recommended a set #9-28012. When I look this up it is listed for a 283F.
Now, at this point i should know the difference (is there a difference between what is called a CC 283 and a CC 283F? engine orientation?) but will this set work with my engine. I am having a difficult time finding these wires....should I just make my own?
thanks

Agree with Bill.
I too would make up my own set.........., this way you get the correct lengths.
However, you're going to need the right fittings and crimp tool.

I strongly suggest you stick to marine grade components. The marine fuel pump is designed to not spill raw gas into the bilge when the seals fail. Marine alternators are designed to prevent open sparks for igniting fuel vapors, etc. Most automotive components either can't stand up to the marine environment and/or pose a saftey hazzard if used for marine applications.

Ayuh,.... Spark plug wires, are spark plug wires.... Nothin' "Marine" about 'em....

Ya just need the Right ends on the right ends of 'em....
