Cavitation Cures

"Hey Guys, I have an 1984 18.5' AMF Crestliner Nordic Deep V hull. It has a 488 Mercruiser in it. Currently the Lower Unit is being worked on as I believe it shucked the ring/pinion gears.

While I am waiting on it to be repaired I thought I would run it past you guys on how to cure my cavitation issues.

It cavitates badly when turning. I even keep the engine in full down position which helps a little but not a lot. It doesn't seem any better with a 14" x 17P prop vs. a 13.75 x 21P. I have not tried a hydrofoil, I have only tried the two props and trim position.

Would a 4 blade prop be better for cavitation than a 3 blade? Would a hydrofoil be the better way to go? Any other suggestions/ideas.

The hubs are good in the props and one is aluminum the other SS."

"From what I've read and tried 4 blades do seem to work better for cavitation, having more bite while turning, big blades help with getting the bow up, hydrofoils that look like wings having a high and low pressure side will keep the bow down more."
