Where oh where would you find

Where oh where would you find a carburetor for a 1983 bayliner capri with the AQ125A Volvo motor and 'bout how much is it gonna hurt the old checkbook? I have a 2barrel that is retrofit onto my intake via a machined piece of aluminum that is machined down to neck down from the 2barrel to the 1barrel orifice but the way it's made there is fuel pooling in the four bolt holes that mount the aluminum to the intake...seems to work okay but I know it's a hokey setup. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you have one of the Weber Carb conversion kits or is it a homemade setup?

Concerning stock carburetors go to EBay. There's a few on auction now and some others for sale at a fixed price (around $125 I think?). You can usually find a carb or carb/manifold combo for anywhere from $75-$150 quality and conditions vary as do the sellers. Look for a nearly 100% positive feedback seller.

EBay auctions for those carbs come up on a regular basis. If you have a Weber 2-barrel carb you could probably sell that and use the money to buy your stock Solex.

That last auction link (for twin Solex downdrafts with the manifold) is shaping up to be a good "TWO-FER" deal with a manifold tossed in!

Shhhh..about that Weber. I was just getting ready to make a $25 CASH offer for that worthless ol' thing! ;)

Yep... If he's got a nice Weber that should be worth two or three little used Solexs.

Hi; I have manifold with both carbs from a 151 engine that was removed from a new boat at a dealer in 1983. I am in the process of installing engine now. I use the weber system so I would be willing to swap.
