goin to put new carb on my gm 350 v-8, it does have a performance cam in it, has been on there 3 + years edlebrock 750 cfm, i have to adjust on it all the time!! now i feel needs to replaced. i can smell gas sometimes, my question is should i put 750 back on it or 600?? what is the pros and cons on the two? thanks all

A 750 cfm carb is typically used on a very powerfull motor in the 400+ hp range.....

That is considered too much for a regular 350 ci motor even with a "performance" cam.

My reccomendation would be to either find a HOLLEY 650 marine spread bore, (small primary and large secondary) carb. or a Rochester marine carb callibrated for a 300 to 325 hp 350 ci. I would suspect a standard marine rochester from a 454 base 300 hp motor would work. It is calibrated for more fuel....

Some Marine rochesters for the 350 mags (magnum ~ 270 -280 HP) were also slightly richer in calibration.

The last carbs used before TBI and EFI were WEBER and one form a magnum 350 ski motor or standard 454 motor would also work.

750 cfm is a lot of carb for a 350. it will run very rich all the time...

If you were to use a cfm calculator you would find it typically would result in a cfm result of about 450 - 500 cfm...But in the real world a 600cfm is typically a good choice because of weight/load and other factors....

JMHO...
