63 evinrude 40hp type 11 carb when pump prim bulb does not get hard, gas flows out exhust have set float level, then set it a little high same problem it idles good but can't get full power. this carb has been rebuilt, cked out the needel valve looks clean??no high speed ajust on this.. ideas please
 
replace pump from parts motor, put it back together no spark on one plug, disconnect the vac switch wires and it runs fine, set the idle runs good..took switch apart a little oil on the contacts seems to work?? this engine has sat for long time without running the gaskets are all dryed out, but everything looks new on it. the fuel pump looks new the safty switch new just sat around..
will try to start tomarrow with vac switch hooked up
 
she runs on2 with the wire disconected so took the switch apart alittle oil was in side on the contacts so cleaned it up, will try again today. as for compresion it has come up from when i first started working on it from 75 each to 95 each. t-stat works as you said kimcrwbr1, can have my hand on head for count of 5-6. it just after i fix one thing theirs another, need to get some running time on her
