Started '77 85hp with star

Started '77 85hp with starting fluid after
5 years in storage. While letting it idle I
start to see grey thick liquid making a stream
out the carb throats. Not alot but alarming
because im thinking water in the block.
Looks and feels like melted icecream. Is
this a bad sign or just oil throwing off reed valves?

Not sure about the other probl

Not sure about the other problem but it is not suggested to use starting fliud on a 2 stroke because of a lack of lubricant in the fuel that the outboard is running on at that time

How do you know it is not just

How do you know it is not just water? When gasoline evaporates it requires heat.It gets the heat from the aluminum of the carburetor. Then warm moist air enters and now finds the cold ( so to speak ) surfaces and the water condenses out of the air.Was it a warm humid day???

"I strongly suggest you clean

"I strongly suggest you clean and rebuild those carburetors. After sitting for that length of time, they are surely fouled, gummed, and clogged somewhat which will result in having the engine run lean."
