Carb Rebuild Question

Ok, I have the 2 carbs off my 87 88HP SPL(J88MSLCUS).

1) Is it ok to use aerosol brake cleaner to clean up the bowl and outside? If not what should I use?

2) The jets just have to be cleaned right? They don't get replaced do they?

3) What should be done with the core plugs and lead shots? Just leave them alone?

thanks for taking the time to to answer what might be dumb questions to some but us poor newbies tend to ask a lot of questions.

Jets in the bowls are usually removed for inspection and cleaning.-------------If float bowls are plastic , then likely they are warped.-------Carefully make them true again using a piece of glass and emery cloth.
