Carb Question 1978 Evinrude 35

I have a carb kit to install..............it has 314166 bearing for the needle valve included.

I see this part 1976 and earlier carbs but not for 77-78 carb.

The needle is shorter of course for my 78.

Do I need it?

No, the 77, 78 models do not use that bearing.
