1988 merc.3.0 2bbl. mercarb idle mixture screw wich way is lean and which is rich? thanks

in lean... out rich... 1 1/2 t

in lean... out rich... 1 1/2 turns out from the closed position start from there.

the best way is like jim said start with 1 1/2 out then with enine idleing warm turn adjusting screw to the left untill the engine starts to stumble and note that point then turn the same adjuster to the right until she starts to stumble then adjust that screw to the middle of those two pionts do both the same
