"was hoping someone could help me with a carb problem. am working on a 1993 johnson 40 hp model #tj40eletb. i was rebuilding carbs but broke brass sleeve that houses the low speed needle. can anyone tell me where i might find this part or tell me what kind of carbs they used on this engine? i can't find any manufacterer name on these carbs. thank you so much for any help, this is a great site and have been helped alot already."

"Not quite sure what You are looking for. There are 2 types of carbs in 93, the attached from the 'late' models and is the one with a needle valve for the carb.
Which part is the mentioned 'sleeve' in?

"i have a johnson service manual and it refers to the part that is broken as the "adapter sleeve" it is the brass sleeve that once is installed on to upper side of carb, you screw the slow speed spring and needle into it. it looks like the part that would hold part#18 and 8 by the picture you sent me. my carbs don't look exactly like this picture, they are not flat on top, they are basically two piece- the bowl and the top half. i was surprised there is no manufacturer info on carbs anywhere. i can't thank you enough for trying to help me, i really appreciate it."
