Carb butterfly shaft ??

How much play should the butterfly shaft have in it Seem like mine has more than it should ?? motor is surging at higher RPMS

What motor? Whatever, it would seem that it would take a LOT of wear to affect high speed running. Idle speed, maybe.

Welcome....Yup....probably NOT the problem. What motor are we working on?

It a 2000 Johnson 50 hp it does seem to run rough at idle and lower speeds so I wonder if they make bushings for the butterfly shaft . They have a alot of play in them it has to be sucking air around them
