At what speed should the rich lean be adjusted to smooth out the motor? Motor is in a barrel.

"George, you can make your adjustments at idle speed (about 750 rpms in neutral) and then can check in forward gear - should get about 650 rpms plus or minus a bit..."

"the slowest it will run is the best, that way you will know how smooth it is. set it to the smoothest idle and then 1/16 to 1/8 of a turn richer. once done set the idle speed in gear to a safe no die level."

Get a "tiny tach" - that's the brand name (cabelas or bass pro sell them among other places) - works well with little motors and cost about 30 bucks...
