Can't trim up

Hi- I am a relatively new boat owner of a 1999 Cobalt 226 w a 350 Mercruiser w a Bravo Stern Drive. I noticed a couple weeks ago that the trim indicator Was not sinking up with my prop going up and down. No biggie I was going to get the lower unit serviced when it got pulled. Over the weekend I noticed Normal noise when I tried to put the trim down to its usual position when boating but when I tried to raise the lower unit there was no noise. I don't think it is getting pulled up which is a problem for pulling the boat and getting it back onto its trailer for winter storage. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was wondering if there is some kind of manual override for this So I don't need to get a mechanic out and pay for the same thing twice considering I'm already getting the lower unit serviced over the winter and they were going to replace the trim puck at that time. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks so much.

make a jumper long enough to go from thew battery+ to the trim pump. Blue motor wire is for up operation. Touch the jumper to the Blue motor wire, drive should raise up

Thanks for the tip. Any chance then of it getting stuck in the up position? Just wondering if I should wait until the end of the season to try it so I don't screw up my ability to go out on the lake this weekend.

How clean are the electrical terminals for the trim pump solenoids? I had this issue, I bought two new solenoids just encase, but all that was needed was a good clean of the terminals and connections (to fresh metal) and it was fully functioning again. Recommend taking pictures of where all the cables go, especially if removing more than one at a time to ensure they go back to correct terminals.

So oddly it ended up being the red wire, when we took it apart and reconnected it to the fuse it started working again so maybe it just shook loose somehow. You probably know better than me. Really appreciate the help on all of this!

So of course it stopped working again so next step is replacing the fuse. Would anyone know off hand what type of fuse belongs in the red port so I don't have to make 2 trips?

My trim unit has a large 110 Amp "block" fuze and a 20 Amp inline blade fuze (it's labelled FUSE), but there may be differences between engines and trim units, etc.

FYI, they're easy enough to take out, if your boat has easy access to it (and its the same unit). Had to refurb mine as it was in a right state, gave it a new stainless bracket as the old one was rusted through. The switch relays are easy enough and cheap enough to replace too.

The "Blade" fuse is a newer style fuse used.

Prior/older trim pump assemblies that uae the plastic resevoir uses a Inline 20 Amp ~ 1" long glass fuse
