Hello , have a 2005 mercury 6hp 4stroke ,that cant adjust to low idle fast idle is fine, I seen others have same problem
anyone have the answer?

If fuel is left in carburetors the small holes in the jets tend to plug up.------------Sounds like the carburetor needs to be cleaned.-----------------Always run fuel out of these carburetors when done boating ,that procedure keeps carburetors clean and saves money.

thanks alot , did find Jet to be clogged but low idle, is still hard to get , I've heard these motors all have this problem, motor does run ok is there a low idle Jet??

Not familiar with these new (to me) Mercs, but there's some kind of cold starting system that introdces extra gas for starting. If that system (?) is not closing off completely you'll be getting way too much fuel for idling.

No low speed jet.The high speed jets on the bottom of a copper tube,That tube is full of holes. They are the low speed part of the carb.Make sure thay are clear.
Make sure the air screw is set correctly.

Yes, these new small 4-strokes have terrible carb issues. I have to clean my carb several times a summer, pretty-much after every use! I'm trading mine on a Suzuki this week, and getting a terrible beating.
