cant get boat over7 mph

i have a dt 115 and it starts and runs just fine. yesterday i was out i was idling along and when i started to speed up after about 7 mph the motor revs up and seems to kick out of gear. any ideas what would cause this?

Try another propeller.-Sounds like the rubber hub has lost drive.
