Cannot Plane

I have a 2000 sea ray 240 with a 5.0 efi mercruiser with 111 hours. ran great all week. yesterday it would not plane. in gear it only goes to 2600 rpms and 11 mph. in neutral it gives me all of the rpms i want. checked the fuel/water separator and it was fine. boat was serviced 5 months ago. Any ideas on why i cannot get out of the hole and get more rpms?

How old is the fuel? When did you last change the fuel filter? It may not be running correctly on all cylinders...dirty or fouled spark plugs or dirty injectors. See what the plugs look like and check for bright blue spark at each plug. Clean the spark arrestor.

Assuming you keep her in the water for the season. Have you checked the bottom for a build up of barnacles. Caught me once at the end of the season. Could not get her up on plane.

checked the fuel/water separator and it was fine.

Ayuh,... Did ya inspect it's Contents,..??

Did ya Replace it,..??
