Bought a mercury 150 outboard 2012 model, just over warrenty. Now the gear has problem and need to chane a new shift shaft. Cost $2500 usd. So i want to repair by myself. Any brother has this experiance?

Are you sure it is the shift shaft? If your handy with a wrench sure you can change one. What is the serial number of your motor it sounds like you may need a second opinion.

Serial no is 1B986879. The problem is i got a torted shift linkage , due to forced bolting of the lower unit onto the mid section, is there any ways i can straighten the linkage by simple means ?

Not sure what you men by "torted". The only thing you can do w/distorted plastic is replace it w/new/used part.
