Just bought this boat and on towing it home the motor fell down on the tilt lock and bounced on the road( not off the hull), bustin the skeg further and bending the prop blades. Insurance co. wants to write the engine off, the repair co. says it has a bent prop shaft (and water damage) and possibly a bent gearbox housing although they arent sure.
I reckon they are a bit shifty and as a result the excessive replacement parts cause the write off.
Is there any way a damaged/ bent or warped gearbox housing can be identified, and what is this about water damage is this an issue?
