Bypass the kill switch

I installed a new GPS unit and now it appears that whoever had installed the prior one had all the wires attached to the kill switch. Consequently I need to bypass the kill switch until I can take it to the shop, I need the boat NOW!

Mercury 115 1984, we just purchased the boat, a MANUAL would be great, unfortunately, I need to get the boat started immediately.

You can disable the entire kill circuit by disconnecting the black/yellow wires from both switch boxes. If you do this you will not be able to turn the motor off with the switch. If you are sure its the emergency kill switch causing the problem you can disconnect the ground going to it.

test the switch with a DVM then you will know if its bad or not.
