Blew 2 pistons on my 175 Merc

Blew 2 pistons on my 175 Merc Powerhead. Want to bypass the oiler and premix 50-1. Going to remove steel gear and oil pump and eliminate the alarm. Anybody done this? Can I simply place a plate and gasket over the hole where the oiler mounts? and plug off the oil lines and eliminate the oil containers?

Good move! Yes you can do exac

Good move! Yes you can do exactly that.I would leave the gear in to keep crankcase volume the same.Just remove the pump and put a plate over the hole.

"What about eliminating the alarm? Is this alarm used for overheating issues also or is that a different alarm? Any ideas, do I just close the circuit?
