Brown stains around sender

I overfilled the gas tanks and gas was leaking out the top of the sender, I’m going to replace the gasket soon, but I have noticed discoloration around the sender. What should I use to get rid of it?

I'd get it sealed up before worrying about cleaning the stain...

you can try vinegar....or some Dawn liquid soap...

It's dried gas- use gas or a degreaser like Spray Nine, Super Clean, Simple Green, etc.

DO NOT over-tighten the screws.
